Connecting with customers

Markel International is launching a new website and upgrading its broker facilities. It's part of an overall brand review that will bring the company closer to its customers.

Change is on the way. Markel International is refreshing its brand and making improvements that will ensure that the company has a stronger market presence and is more accessible to customers. The first change is a new website, which will be launched at the end of May. Designed to provide all the essential information, but without burdening users with unnecessary detail, the website is lean, concise, easy to navigate and attractive to view. The second phase of the development, which will be complete by the end of the year, includes a broker lounge and will incorporate Elliott Special Risks' web pages. (Markel International acquired the Canadian managing general agent in October 2009.)

New look Markel website

New look: the website has a clean, fresh design

In addition to the new website and online broker lounge, there are plans to upgrade the broker lounge at 49 Leadenhall Street. Although the lounge already provides a convenient and congenial meeting place, with internet access, light refreshments and plenty of workspace, the aim is to expand the facilities and create an even more attractive business and social centre next to the Lloyd's building. You will hear more about the project in future issues of Market Matters.
